They are used to frame our vision as an organization, and as individual employees, and they provide a foundation that helps us to grow and develop - both as individuals and as professionals. They were developed as a collaborative effort, and they reflect the qualities we all exhibit and strive toward. Here is a snapshot of Leighton Interactive's core values:
Being driven is about constantly pushing the envelope, and never deciding good is good enough. It's about doing whatever it takes to get what needs to be done completed. But it's not just about task managing.
It's also about putting effort into teaching and learning in ways that help us develop ourselves professionally. Being driven means you set goals, reach milestones, and continue to challenge yourself.
Innovation is the enemy of complacency. We don't follow along with the crowd, we're marketing pioneers. Even when the odds (or conventional ways of doing things) are stacked against us, we're unafraid to keep going. Because new trails aren't blazed until you step off of the beaten path.
Sure, sometimes we make mistakes, but a mistake being made means we were trying something new. It's still a learning experience and a way to do better the next time around. We're not afraid to do something different.
You've heard the old adage, "The only constant in life is change," haven't you? Well, this core value gets to the heart of that. Adaptability is an ever-present core value within our organization. We stay agile, ready to shift or change our approach when challenges arise. Because we can't control everything that happens, but we can control how we react to it. Sometimes it's about approaching a problem from a different angle or pulling in another team member who can offer additional expertise. Being adaptable keeps us open to change and failure, and it allows us to keep pushing forward.
Transparency is such an important part of Leighton Interactive, we oftentimes refer to ourselves as "The Transparent Tribe." To us, transparency is about honesty. We're not about hiding the truth while we try to put out fires. Instead, we're transparent with our clients and we're transparent with all members of our team. It's just how we function - developing a culture of honesty and openness isn't always easy, but it sure is worth it.
Our fifth and final core value is thinker. Every individual at Leighton Interactive has a solid head on their shoulders, and being a thinker is about putting that head to good use. We are all such different, skilled individuals who are working toward the same goal. So, when we think differently, we see problems and solutions differently too. Giving everyone a voice and the encouragement to stop, think, and do what's best just might be one of the greatest strengths of our organization.

I love language and all the power it wields. Perfectly placed punctuation and artfully used alliteration brighten my eyes and bring joy to my heart. As Lead Writer, I ensure the ideas, visions, and goals of our clients are able to reach their intended audience. Articulating complex ideas and representing them honestly, ethically, and artistically is something I consistently strive toward. When I’m not solving the world’s tiniest problems with concise word choice, you can find me enjoying nature, practicing yoga, and expanding my knowledge of human nature – sometimes all three at once.
