In 2018 I heard a lot about trust. Building brands with authenticity and trust was never easy and in 2018 that seemed to become an even taller task. The speakers, authors, and influencers seemed to continue to say what they had already been saying, just more like “do you believe me yet? IT’S HAPPENING!”
In many ways, 2018 was a year of predictions coming to fruition. Predictions from thought leaders like Seth Godin or Simon Sinek made 5, 10, or more years ago became somewhat obvious to the majority of businesses. It was a tipping point for many tactics they prescribed years ago that until now only the early-birds were cashing in on. I heard all about video, storytelling, automation, and aligning sales and marketing in 2016 and 2017 too - but now that the tools have caught up and enough competitors are doing it, most companies have joined the party. Even if they aren’t on the dance floor, they have at least shown up to this inbound/automation/customer-centric soirée.
HubSpot is, of course, hosting the party. In more ways than one. HubSpot has launched and is launching features that align with the next phase of inbound while still offering the starter option for those that are new to inbound.
If you’re looking to make your own 2019 marketing predictions, look at what HubSpot is doing.
#1 The Growth Suite
If you are an inbound marketing geek, this is more exciting than when you discovered workflows or CTAs. The Growth Suite combined the Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and Service Hub all built on top of HubSpot’s free CRM at a discounted price from the standalone products. If you are new to inbound marketing, you should start with this tool in 2019.
PREDICTION: HubSpot will accelerate their growth and many current users will add more tools to their license.
# 2 Video creation, hosting, and management
HubSpot now offers video tools right in the software. Video had its biggest year yet in 2018, and 2019 is going to be even bigger. If you are finally convinced to tell your unique brand story through video, using this tool within HubSpot will help you create powerful video campaigns with CTAs and forms built-in.
PREDICTION: Video content will near 80% of internet traffic.
#3 The HubSpot CMS
I told you they were hosting the party didn’t I? HubSpot now has a standalone CMS for purchase that makes it easy to edit your content and create a custom and personalized experience for your buyer persona. Hosting and a standard SSL certificate are included!
PREDICTION: HubSpot will break the top 25 in website hosting market share over the next 5 years.
Since Leighton Interactive started a partnership with HubSpot in 2012, we have witnessed a lot of innovation in inbound marketing and 2019 will be no different. Remember though, execution and expertise are important; The ability to focus and follow-through on the detailed nuances of a marketing campaign is often the difference in results. The tools have automation but are not automated. Who is using the tools matter. If your business is using HubSpot or any other marketing, sales or service automation software, the good old-fashion humans who build and execute the campaigns are the difference in the return on your investment.
