It's Shelbi's birthday! Here at Leighton Interactive, we like to give a shout out to our people on important milestones. So first and foremost, happy birthday Shebi!

Shelbi, oh Shelbi. What can I say about this bundle of energy and color? Shelbi is an extremely vivacious person, with a personality big enough to fill a football field or two. She is also that really cool friend/cousin/stranger-in-Target that you wish you could be. With rockin' tattoos, and hair that changes color on a (almost) daily basis, she is the epitome of cool. Just to show you what a cool gal she is, here is an epic Shelbi Collage:

In addition to being a punk-rock fashion guru and an enthusiastic dog lover, Shelbi also happens to be one of the most talented designers I know. With an intuition for design and a keen eye for color, Shelbi is constantly creating kickass designs for our clients. She owns website designs and infographics like Beyoncé owns dancing, and is sometimes casually referred to as the icon queen. No big deal.

Along with all of these things, Shelbi has a few things she is VERY passionate about. Those things are The Office, Fall Out Boy, and her dog Copper. With a fascinating ability to pair any situation (seriously, ANY) with a quote from The Office, or a FOB lyric, she is fully equipped for anything life throws at her.

Individuality is one of the most important attributes people can possess. I’ve met many people and heard many stories in my lifetime, and I can say with complete confidence that Shelbi is one of those rare humans. A true individual, yet she’s so much bigger than herself. She has the best heart and always puts others before herself. Another one of those attributes so important to humanity.

In honor of Shelbi’s birthday, we all wanted to help her pick out her next look. AND...because I am basically the best kind of friend, I've even done a little photoshop magic to give her a glimpse of her new look. Without further ado, here is the hair and tattoo bucket list:

Hair-tat

A picture of Mr. Copper – she’s the dog whisperer and Copper is her other half. I can just picture her getting that tattoo next – FO SHO.

Rainbow– a layer of colors starting with red on the top all the way to purple on the bottom (how sweet would that be!)

The next tattoo Shelbi should get is a paw print of her dog Copper. A lot of people you see have their children’s footprints tattooed on them, and Copper is basically that to Shelbi. You can tell he takes after his mother!

The next hair color Shelbi should dye her hair is lavender. Why? Because I love lavender and it’s one of the few colors she hasn’t done yet. That’s a good enough reason, right?

Shelbi’s next tattoo should be a pet portrait of Copper to show her love. (Obviously Copper is a pretty popular choice.)

I could totally see her dying her hair like a rainbow to show off her colorful personality. (Another popular choice!)

“Wiz Khalifa” and “Hoodie Allen” in script next to her “Fall Out Boy” tattoo.

I think I’ve seen her with every color except for brown… So let’s go with that.

Steve Carell’s beautiful face with one of his Michael Scott quotes, in honor of The Office.

Red/orange-to-yellow ombre. What better way to show her spitfire personality?!

The ultimate girl tattoo. Just kidding

I say channel her inner mermaid with a nice, deep turquoise.

A turd. Because she is the shit.

Hair_Icon2-02.png
Black. As-gothic-as-a-90’s-sub-culture-highschool-group black.

No Ragrets. Obviously.

Oh Shelbi. Your smile lights up the room…and so does your ever-changing hair colors! I think you should go multicolored next time. The left side blaze orange and the right side neon green. That way, when you turn your head, you’ll surprise anyone who was only able to see one side of your face. Like me…from my office, only being able to see your left side.

Knuckle tats that read, “Eyes” and “Ears” because that’s what she is. A listener and a looker, taking it all in and blowing shit back out, bigger and better.

I want her to debut an Emmy Lou Harris-esque gray

Tattoo-gun-2-02A tree with lots of branches and roots. Besides the fact that I think these look cool – I think it represents Shelbi in a lot of ways. First, she’s from the middle of no-where South Dakota - (It’s only OK for me to say that because I’m from the middle of no-where Southwest Minnesota) - I can only imagine that solitary trees grow abundantly there. Also, I think Shelbi is truly, unapologetically rooted in who she is, but isn’t afraid to branch out and try something new. Shelbi is such a generous soul and a beautifully unique person. “In nature nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.” - Alice Walker.

Hair_Icon2-02.pngGREEN! Why? It’s my favorite color, obviously. But besides that, green has a lot of meaning that I associate with Shelbi. Growth, ambition, calmness (sometimes, haha), and energy. Green symbolizes balance and I think Shelbi is the queen of balancing professional, killer design work – and fun, out-of-the-box-try-something-new. Go green, Shelbi! (please!)

Obviously you need to get the Leighton Interactive icon. On your forehead.

Whatever crazy color you have in mind is perfect. You aren’t afraid to try anything, and that’s what I love about you! Only you could pick the colors that live up to your crazy and fun personality.

Happy birthday you little chameleon. Keep that shit up.
